I'm Benjamin, an engineer who has taken fine-tuned models to production. Coldstill does one job: moving a single narrow, high-volume task off a frontier API — or off a keyboard — and onto an efficient model you own, with the evidence that the replacement holds.

Why this is one job and not a menu

Most firms selling AI cost reduction will take on anything. This practice takes on one shape of problem: a task that runs thousands of times a month, where the right answer is a matter of fact rather than taste, and where you already have a history of correct answers. Document extraction is the clearest example — invoices, contracts, claims, CVs.

That narrowness is the point. A task with those properties can be measured honestly, so you can be shown whether it worked instead of being asked to take it on faith. A chatbot cannot. If your problem is a different shape, the read you get back will say so rather than reshaping the problem to fit what Coldstill sells.

What you can check rather than believe

• The benchmark is published in full — two public tasks, every measured field, both baselines, and the method behind each number, including the places the model still loses (the measurements).
• The eval harness ships with every engagement, so every number you are shown can be re-run by you, on your data, on your hardware (how parity is measured).
• Prices carry the date they were verified, and the arithmetic behind every estimate is shown rather than asserted.
• The site runs no cookies, analytics or trackers (how data is handled).

Everything is yours to keep

Continuity is built into how engagements end rather than promised: the weights, the serving configuration, the eval harness and the handover document are all yours from day one. A migration finishes with everything needed to run and re-verify the model independently of Coldstill. Hosting is month-to-month and cancellable, and cancelling it does not cost you the model.

Nothing about your deployment depends on staying a client. That is a deliberate design choice, and it is the same reason the model is yours rather than rented.
